Code of Conduct for UMJC Young Adults
For Online and In-Person Events
Welcome to the UMJC Young Adults community! We strive to foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants, both online and at in-person events. By engaging with us, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

Online Conduct:

Respectful Communication: Treat others with kindness and respect in all online interactions. Avoid offensive language, discrimination, and harassment.

Privacy: Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information without consent.

Inclusive Environment: Embrace diversity. Avoid discriminatory behavior based on race, gender, religion, age, or any other personal characteristic.

Content Guidelines: Share content that is respectful, relevant, and aligns with our values. Avoid posting inappropriate, offensive, or harmful material.

No Bullying or Harassment: Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated in online interactions.

In-Person Event Conduct:

Respectful Behavior: Treat fellow participants, organizers, and speakers with courtesy and respect during in-person events.

Privacy: Respect the privacy of others. That means different genders do not go into the other gender's private sleeping areas unless they are married.

Participation: Engage actively and positively in event activities. Avoid disruptive or disrespectful behavior.

Safety & Authority: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all attendees. Follow event guidelines and instructions from organizers.

Inclusive Atmosphere: Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Avoid behavior that excludes or discriminates against others.

Substance Abuse: No substance abuse will be tolerated at in-person events. Attendees are expected to comply with state guidelines regarding substance use.

Consequences for Code of Conduct Violations:

Discretionary Removal: The UMJC Young Adults board reserves the right to remove any participant, online or at an event, who violates the Code of Conduct.

Reporting to Authorities: Serious violations may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
In-Person Event-Specific Consequences:

No Tolerance for Substance Abuse: Substance abuse at in-person events will result in immediate removal from the event.

No Tolerance for Recreational Drug Use: Anyone found with recreational drugs will be removed from the event immediately.

State Guidelines: Attendees must follow state guidelines related to substance use at all times during in-person events.

Removal from Events: Violating the Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event, even if it is a paid event, with no refund provided.
Reporting and Appeals:
If you need to report a problem, feel wrongly accused, or have concerns about a violation:

Provide a detailed description of the incident, including names, dates, and any supporting evidence.
Communication:
​By providing your email and phone number you agree to receive communication through both of the provided forms concerning any events one signs up for and any possible future events. If one does not want to continue receiving communication all they need to do is write back to us at umjc20s30s@gmail.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe" or reply to text "STOP".
